MARKHAM, Ontario, Aug. 26, 2022 Genesis Motors Canada has appointed Eric Marshall to the position of director, succeeding Lawrence Hamilton who will be taking on a new role overseas as managing director of Genesis Motor Europe. In his new role effective September 1, Marshall will be responsible for managing all aspects of Canadian operations for Genesis.

Born and raised in Canada, Marshall has been with Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. since 2015, starting as product manager for Hyundai. In 2016 – the inception of Genesis Motors Canada - he transitioned to the luxury brand as senior sales manager, and was promoted to national sales manager in 2019. Prior to joining Hyundai Auto Canada Corp., he held progressive roles at a domestic automaker, in the areas of sales and brand management.

Marshall is among a small, dedicated team responsible for launching operations in the Canadian market as it established its unique agency model. As one of the architects of the brand who participated in the development of the brand strategy and creation of distributor network agreements, he is well equipped to oversee all aspects of the business.

“I am very humbled by the opportunity and am beyond excited to take on this new role,” says Marshall, director, Genesis Motors Canada. “We are determined to carry on the strong momentum the brand has experienced during its short lifespan and look forward to continued success with our network of distributors who are committed to delivering exceptional experiences.”

Marshall’s responsibilities will include oversight of GRX (Genesis Retail Experience) facility construction and overall growth strategy as sales continue to increase. He will be based out of Genesis Motors Canada’s head office in Markham, Ontario.

Jay (Jaehoon) Chang, the global head of Genesis, added, “Eric has a wealth of experience gained across brand, product, and sales roles in the auto industry. Paired with his essential know-how about the Canadian market, there is no doubt he will lead Genesis onto greater success while raising our profile as a luxury brand.”
